Bosch launches its cybersecurity procurement platform in the UK

Bosch CyberCompare supports companies and the public sector when purchasing cybersecurity for enterprise IT, Operational Technology and IoT used in production or products

German company Bosch announced plans to launch its cybersecurity procurement platform Bosch CyberCompare in the U.K. market.

Bosch CyberCompare supports companies and the public sector when purchasing cybersecurity for enterprise IT, Operational Technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) used in production or products. The platform enables customers to procure security services as well as all kinds of products while providing specification templates, recommendations, anonymized requests for proposals, comparisons of actual provider quotes and running complete requests for quotes (RFQs).

“The cybersecurity market is dynamic. Vendors need to keep cybersecurity solutions up to date and implement the latest best practices. The technical scope of hardware and software is constantly changing and more features are being developed all the time. Old vendors disappear and new vendors emerge that can better protect your business,” the company said. “We recommend providers with whom we have had good experience at Bosch or in cooperation with our customers. At the same time, we are open to alternatives because – unlike many resellers – we have no vendor sales targets and our remuneration is not dependent on sales-related discounts on list prices. Our goal is to represent the customer’s interests in the best possible way.”

Bosch’s cybersecurity procurement platform can compare quotes from more than 7,000 providers of cybersecurity solutions and providers for IT, OT and IoT environments.

Jannis Stemmann, founder and CEO at Bosch CyberCompare said: “Why should every organization start from scratch when purchasing cybersecurity, instead of building on good practices and benefitting from platform effects? CyberCompare offers the opportunity to get the project completed faster, with low risk and for a lower budget.”

“We are excited to officially launch in the U.K. following significant uptake amongst our customers with the delivery of over 300 external projects in German-speaking regions in the last 18 months. As a truly state-of-the-art platform, we are excited to grow the brand and offerings to a wider base of businesses,” said Nehal Thakore, U.K. country head at Bosch CyberCompare.

In June, Bosch said it had invested more than £300 million (currently $341 million) in the U.K. and Ireland in the past 12 months. The German firm noted that the U.K. is an increasingly important center of innovation for Bosch in areas such as advanced electronics, automated driving, and hydrogen technology.

In 2021, the company registered £3 billion in annual sales in the region, an increase of 9.2% compared to 2020

Globally, the U.K. is Bosch’s fourth largest market and is its second largest within Europe, after Germany.
