Telit opens its new global headquarters in California

Telit said that the new Irvine office will also serve key projects and customers in the region

Global IoT specialist Telit announced the opening of its new global corporate headquarters in Southern California.

The new office is located in the City of Irvine, in Orange County’s technology hub, and will support Telit’s strategy to grow its connected devices and solutions business worldwide.

The Irvine office will also serve key projects and customers in the region, expanding its U.S. presence that currently includes offices in Illinois, Florida and North Carolina.

Telit said that the Irvine location is now open and operating.

Paolo Dal Pino, CEO at Telit, said: “Choosing a global headquarters in California is a move consistent with the objective of strengthening our market position as a leading western player in the IoT connected devices and solutions arena. Particularly now — with a 100% Western shareholder structure — it’s a move that poises Telit for major growth and expansion in 2022 and beyond.”

Telit has research and development centers and sales and operations offices in 28 locations globally, including R&D centers in the U.S., Italy, Korea and India.

Telit focuses on the provision of device management and connectivity solutions that are essential to technologies powering smart cities, transportation, manufacturing, automotive, retail and healthcare.

In related news, the firm recently announced that its Telit deviceWISE platform now includes new digital transformation applications and templates enabling out-of-the-box solutions for industrial companies. Preventative maintenance monitors the function of any industrial machine and sends alerts in advance for patterns that affect productivity and can create downtime. Telit will release new apps for overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), remote monitoring and smart agriculture.

The SMART START app templates are part of deviceWISE VIEW and are customizable out-of-the-box to take advantage of the deviceWISE platform.

Telit noted that deviceWISE comes with hundreds of industrial drivers to allow data collection from any type of PLC, CNC, robot, torque tool, barcode, RFID, sensors and more.

The Telit deviceWISE industrial IoT platform suite has three main product offerings:

-deviceWISE EDGE is a unified, no-code industrial platform that reduces latency and increases factory operations throughput.

-deviceWISE CLOUD is a cloud-based service that manages remote access, data collection, device and connectivity management from the edge to the cloud.

-deviceWISE VIEW is a full SCADA and HMI system with data visualization and an application layer for the SMART START packages.

“We are introducing preventive maintenance first because it is a common challenge that typically takes a long time for industrial companies to implement efficiently. According to McKinsey, maintenance is one of the most important optimization factors in the industry representing a potential yearly economic impact of $577 billion across the industry,” said Ricardo Buranello, SVP and Head of Telit IoT Platforms. “With deviceWISE SMART START, the solution is ready to be deployed in a day rather than weeks or months allowing enterprises to start saving immediately.”
